“You Don’t Listen” is a European dance-pop track with sexy soul undertones, and fit for a chill music club.
To tell you the truth, I wasn’t paying attention to the lyrics. The vibes are mellow and relaxing, but the beats are energetic enough to sway and bob your head. Like one of those inflatable tube men with wacky arms dancing in front of businesses, car dealerships especially. But I’m guessing the lyrics tell a woman having enough of her man’s bullshit. Since he doesn’t listen, she tells him to go their separate ways. “When ‘You Don't Listen’, it's hard to stay in sync in relationships,” said Moodssupply. “That's the theme of the song.”
The pre-chorus and chorus got my attention, but mainly because of the female singer. I don’t know her name since she’s not featured, but she makes the whole track sound haunting and lost, in an enchanting way. I would go back and relisten for the chorus and pre-chorus alone. Sidenote, every time she sings, I keep hearing “There’s a Murder on the Dancefloor” in the back of my mind. This is Moodssupply’s first track of 2025, and there’ll be more to come. The song “You Don’t Listen” is available on January 10.
