First things first, the sun is definitely shining.
While she is no stranger to the music scene, The Sunshine State’s latest single, “Things Changed” brings us a hit of electro/indie pop that showcases her gorgeous airy vocals, incredible lyrical talent, and a stylized video that screams teen nostalgia with a sophisticated edge. She has managed to be both the quintessential “cool girl” and everyone's best friend, simultaneously. I personally want to spend an afternoon riding around LA on a skateboard with her, reliving my early relationships through rose colored glasses.
Skyler shares, "'Things Changed' is about where I was in my life and where I could have gone. It’s about who I was with and where they ended up.It’s about the different roads you can take and the ones you choose to leave behind."
Born in Las Vegas, Skyler moved to Los Angeles shortly after graduating high school to pursue a career in music. However, a breast cancer diagnosis put things on hold for a little while. After successfully battling the disease, Skyler's experience, determination, and gusto became a clear catalyst for her burgeoning career. "[Breast cancer] doesn't define me," Stonestreet shared with Ones To Watch. "But now I want to help other people who are going through it. And I want girls to know that they should feel okay in their own skin."
Skylar Stonestreet, the force behind “The Sunshine State” already possesses an impressive background from her previous work writing for the likes of pop superstars Dua Lipa, The Chainsmokers, and Ariana Grande to name a few. Her music has also appeared on hit shows such as “Grey’s Anatomy,” “One Tree Hill,” and “Switched at Birth.” Needless to say, I can’t wait to hear more from this hyper talented artist.
