"Take My Time" - Yassin |Review

Yassin takes his track "Take My Time" unplugged in a beautiful singer songwriter moment of reflection.

Let us all just sit back and marvel at Yassin's falsetto. The simplicity of this unplugged version of this track just allows for every element to shine. The track is gentle, passionate, and real. The romance and softness of the song shows so much of the vulnerability of saying you are going to stick by someone no matter how complicated the world gets around you. With a piano melody that is reminiscent of the slow dance style from earlier eras, his modern touch on a classic love song is enchanting, and evokes the true passion behind the song’s meaning.

Yassin explains the decision to create an alternate version, quoting “The original Take My Time has been doing so well, and we've been getting such a great response from fans, that we thought we'd treat them to an acoustic or "Unplugged" version. This was supposed to just be for myself to put on the B side of some vinyls I'm giving to family and friends, but it turned out so pretty, both Sean and I knew we had to release it. I wrote this song about all my favourite moments shared with someone near and dear to me. To me, the original version captures the exhilarating nature of living out those moments, and this version about holding on to each precious second of them. Or to simplify the original is meant for people to dance fast, and this one is meant for slow dancing with your person.”

Always experimenting, Yassin weaves in between different genres whilst he’s creating. Whilst he writes and produces all of his music, he never sings on his own songs, instead discovering artists who reflect the vibe of his tracks and letting them perform on them, which he believes allows him to break into genres he otherwise wouldn’t be familiar with.
