"Power Cut" - DUNE Aimee | Review

DUNE Aimee kills it on “Power Cut”. The sound of her voice and chorus breakdown is very unique. By the way, if you have been reading my reviews then you know…

I…

Love…

A unique sound.

In her debut single, DUNE’s voice has this Imagine the Dragons, maybe Halsey/Ellie Goulding sound. From the mesmerizing chorus to the second chorus breaking down to the bridge, and her adlib and vocoder - each has their own part in the song eventually coming together in a great formation of synergy.

Her voice is strong and seems to empower the song in a relatable way. When I listen to “Power Cut” I see Wonder Woman whipping her Lasso of Truth. Maybe this could be the power cut DUNE refers to?

Ah, I think that might be a little too far-fetched.

Regarding “Power Cut”, DUNE explained; “It’s a very personal song to me. I wrote it in a period in my life where I was doubting a lot of things and didn’t know how to get out of the situation I was in.”

It’s crazy to think that this track was technically a call to help, but that I still find it empowering. Not many artists have that talent.

And can you guess yet?

I really enjoyed this song.

I’m a sucker for unique sounds.

DUNE Aime hails from the Netherlands but now lives in Leeds, UK. She started collaborating with songwriters, producers, and other artists around the area three years ago.

DUNE Aime is a very talented artist and truly enjoyed this track. Go listen to it now…
