“Never Enough” - Leonelle | Review

Blending the intricacies of singer-songwriter lyricism and the hypnotic vocal textures of RnB Leonelle’s latest single “Never Enough” is already a stand out in my fall playlist.

The single is a slow burn that floats - much like the cover art - through this soft electronic dreamscape. Her vocals are stunning, you are hanging on every word. Her introspective lyrics are incredibly vulnerable as she tells a story of navigating a relationship or situation which would diminish her self-worth. The building melodic intensity and the shift from a more soft acoustic sound to a more synthy orchestral space is jaw-dropping.

As the first single off of her upcoming debut EP As I AM, “Never Enough” makes a statement about what Leonelle’s true voice as an artist has become. We can assure you that this is an artist to keep on your radar. I can’t wait to hear what is next for this artist.

ABOUT LEONELLE:

Leonelle used to believe pursuing her childhood dream of becoming a pop star required her to be perfect. But navigating her early 20s showed her the only music worth making came from embracing imperfection and finding her true voice—in learning to fully accept herself as she is and presenting that to the world, vulnerably. The past few years, that hard-earned epiphany has taken shape into pristine alt-pop and aqueous R&B, which she uses as a canvas for unguarded confessions—raw lyrics poured straight from soul to song. Learning to be even more open with herself and her listeners has now culminated in As I Am, the Los Angeles-based artist’s introspective, intimate debut EP.
