There’s something undeniably magnetic about artists who can bottle up big emotions and deliver them through shimmering pop melodies—and that’s exactly what Lyncs does best. The indie-pop project of Jacqueline Hynes, Lyncs is the kind of artist who turns vulnerability into a superpower. Whether you’ve stumbled across her on Spotify or caught her playing an intimate live set, her music feels like a diary entry you didn’t know you needed to read.
At Unheard Gems, we’re always on the hunt for rising talent that deserves your full attention, and Lyncs is at the top of our radar. With her ethereal production, poignant lyrics, and a voice that cuts through the noise, she’s not just creating songs—she’s crafting a world you want to live in.
We sat down with Lyncs to talk about her creative journey, what inspires her sound, and what’s next in her ever-evolving musical story.
Unheard Gems: Hey Lyncs! Thanks so much for chatting with us. How are you doing? What’s been on your mind lately?
Lyncs: Thank you so much for having me! I couldn’t wait to chat with you guys. Things are really kicking up this week as I gear up for the tour! But what’s really been on my mind is Severance and what’s going to happen in the season finale.

Unheard Gems: Your music has such a cinematic, dreamy feel while still feeling personal and relatable. How would you describe the sound of Lyncs to someone who’s never heard your music before?
Lyncs: Wow, what a compliment! I think you nailed it— but if I had to redefine it, I’d say my music is about “blowing up small life moments into atmospheric anthems.”
Unheard Gems: The music industry can be unpredictable, but each challenge brings growth. What has been the biggest lesson you’ve learned in the music industry, and what advice would you give to artists just starting out?
Lyncs: I’ve learned so many lessons, so it’s tough to pick just one! I’d say the biggest lesson is to trust your gut and own it. I spent a lot of time in the beginning trying to find my voice, and it became a lot easier when I stopped trying to be what I thought people wanted and just performed as myself.
Unheard Gems: Your songwriting feels really personal, almost like you’re letting us in on little snapshots of your life. Is there a song of yours that holds a special meaning for you?
Lyncs: My upcoming single “I Live In This Body” is easily the most personal song I’ve written so far, but I hope everyone can relate to it in their own way. It comes out March 28th!
Unheard Gems: You’ve performed in all kinds of settings, from intimate rooms to bigger venues—how do you adjust your performance depending on the space?
Lyncs: It’s always about the crowd for me. I just focus on connecting with the people around me, no matter how big or small the stage. Music is truly a language, and regardless of how many people or the space between us, I always find that connection—and I can’t get enough of it.
Unheard Gems: Every artist has those formative tracks that stick with them. What did you grow up listening to, and how do you feel like it’s reflected in the music you make today?
Lyncs: I grew up listening to a lot of Queen, the Spice Girls, Paramore, Twenty One Pilots, and The 1975. Sort of all over the place, but honestly, I think my music draws inspiration from all of them! I LOVE a good anthem you can dance to, huge guitars, dancing, and self-love and expression.

Unheard Gems: Social media has become such a big part of being an artist today. How do you approach creating content that feels true to you while still engaging with new listeners?
Lyncs: I think social media is an incredible tool to connect with people and create a genuine fan/artist connection. There’s never been a better way to directly reach such a large audience! It feels like winning the lottery, so I just try to focus on making content I enjoy watching, and making sure that when I film, I enjoy the process.
Unheard Gems: If you could collaborate with any artist—big or small—who would be at the top of your list?
Lyncs: Right now, I’d love to make a song with Yungblud. I think he’s always crushing it, and I really love what he stands for.
Unheard Gems: Looking to the future can be both exciting and overwhelming. Five years from now, what is one thing you hope people will remember about your music?
Lyncs: I hope people are still talking about how my music is earnest and raw. I try really hard not to lose myself in the process as a musician and artist, and I hope that stays true in 5, 10, even 15 years!
Unheard Gems: We love discovering new artists, and we know you do too! Who are some ‘unheard gems’ you think more people should have on their radar?
Lyncs: I’m super into Toledo and Carol Ades right now—can’t get enough!
Unheard Gems: What’s next for you? Any exciting projects, music releases, or shows we should be looking forward to?
Lyncs: I’ve been producing for some new artists, and I’m really excited about the music they’re releasing! I’m also gearing up for more shows this year post-tour, and there’s SO much more music coming. I can’t wait for you to hear it!
