“Kill My Summer” by Dina Stars is an electro-pop comeback anthem for anyone dealing with a clingy ex.
This artist has such a powerful voice and a strong presence throughout the song. The production is a lot of fun, like bursting bubbles of sass and confidence. Snaps are incorporated to carry the beat along in a creative and lively way. I can say from experience, this melody will get stuck in your head. It’s upbeat, dancy, and tells the story of someone who has truly become stronger after moving on from a relationship. Dina explained, “The song talks about a personal experience with an ex who keeps popping up back in your life, even in seasons. You always expect a text in the summer...saying the same thing again & again, wanting you back.”
Dina is a 25-year-old Jordanian singer, songwriter & guitarist, who specializes in contemporary pop and acoustic RnB. She is a self-taught guitarist and has been composing songs since the age of 14.
She caught a lot of public attention when she became one of the top four finalists of the Emerging Talent Competition and she often releases covers of hit songs from Ariana Grande hits to Daft Punk on her Youtube channel.
