"In Puzzles" - SWiiMS | Review

SWiiMS opens their debut album with “In Puzzles”, a feel-good track that could easily serve as the poster child for indie music.

I’m reminded of several of my favorite artists when I hear this track - it almost sounds like a Beach House instrumental paired with Clairo-esque vocals. The track kicks off with murky guitar before it gives way to a more upbeat sound, then moving into light, ethereal vocals. It feels like a fall afternoon, walking through crunchy leaves with a chill in the air, making it the perfect addition to your fall feel-good playlist!

Based in Toronto, Canada, indie rock group SWiiMS is comprised of guitarist Colin Thompson, bassist Cian O’Ruanaidh, and vocalist Mai Diaz Langou. While their sound is reminiscent of all sorts of indie artists, they’ve been able to add a spin to their work that makes them completely unique at the same time. This is the introductory track to their debut album “Into the Blue Night”, and fittingly, it’s just the beginning. Be sure to check out the rest of their work!
