Cyber Hangover - Naia Lika | Review

Naia Lika is back with her newest single ‘Cyber Hangover’ which gives a facelift to dance pop as an energetic track with a strong infusion of casual guitar riffs- creating the perfect symphony.

A Dua Lipa esque bop, released on September 8th. Naia Lika is an American pop singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles, California. Naia is making waves as an innovative, yet nostalgic artist through pop, soul and R&B. Naia is honest and expressive in her music which came to no surprise to her parents since her Great-Grandfather sang alongside the Rat Pack: Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peter Lawford, Joey Bishop & Sammy Davis Jr.

‘Cyber Hangover’ makes you wanna dance around a room and scream the lyrics. “Flash, and it’s over / I need someone to tell me I’m sober / Cyber Hangover” Naia sings these lyrics between the groovy instrumentation. Lika’s clear and joyful vocals soar over the carefully crafted production, marrying iconic attributes to create a song perfect for drinking wine with your friends hyping up for a night out.

As her fourth single of the year, Lika is making her presence in the music scene well known. A commercial track, “Cyber Hangover” merges multiple genres that offer layers of different production elements, making this an easy replay. With influences from Remi Wolf and Dua Lipa, Lika is finding her sound in the dance pop stratosphere with innovative lyricism. There is also a retro essence prevalent in this song, showing her skillful songwriting as she identifies the pressing weight of today’s media and its suffocating side effects.

Lika’s parents can be thanked for her love of music since they introduced her to musical theater. She started writing music during the pandemic and it was the first time she felt that she was actively choosing to pursue music, instead of blind following in her family’s footsteps. We can’t wait to see what Naia Lika does next!
