“Cruel” is a 2-minute folk indie song full of acoustics and healed pain. The first 20 seconds set a simple, relaxing tone. The guitar and vocals are simple and soft, but simplicity goes a long way.
The lower harmonies support the backspace, making the melody more full and grounded, letting listeners embrace just MIN’s voice. The lyrics are touching and reflective. It tells the story of someone reflecting on their past love interest. Thought they were in love, but the ex-SO played them for tricks. I’ve listened to and written about many heartbreak, post-relationship songs in my life, but
“Cruel” captures the slow, burning realization of what transpired before you as you fall out of love with that person. Just MIN allows fans and first-time listeners to wonder in a not-so-empty space to heal their wounds and find themselves. All together, “Cruel” fits well in a soundtrack for a coming-of-age movie.
“Cruel” will be available on November 15 on all streaming platforms.

On July 2023, just MIN released his first song “Seoul in the Summer”. Wonderland Magazine said his song and overall sound are utterly refreshing because it’s “healing those that listen and shining a light on topics not usually given a platform. His stellar vocals and impeccable knack for storytelling is undeniably golden.” His second single “Expat Living” was a calm alt-pop song with depressing lyrics.
These two songs have been played in 79 countries with 7k streams on Spotify alone. Just MIN wants people with a multicultural background or similarly confusing backgrounds to know that their stories are just as important as his.
“Stories aren't meant to be left within, unheard and untold.”
