“Brave” - The Satellite Station | Review

“Brave” by The Satellite Station is a track that will resonate with any listener.

A beautiful blend of indie and pop music with stunning musicality and lyricism, “Brave” is a powerful track. The song itself addresses struggling with impostor syndrome, something, the artist said he “struggles with on a daily basis and is most present in my songwriting”. I think anyone can relate to that self-doubt in their own accomplishments and feel like they lack a sense of deserving or belonging. This track isn’t heavy though, which with a topic like this, it could have swung dark. Instead, there is an uplifting quality to the song, there is this embedded self-validation and affirmation which is so powerful to hear.

The Satellite Station is the solo project of singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Travis Rue. In 2019, The Ohio native began recording new material that melds his pop background with indie/folk elements. With haunting folk-inspired melodies and emotionally deep lyrics, Rue’s storytelling transports the listener to relatable experiences in their own lives.
